Bearing in mind how much care we take to entertain our friends and family – with catered meals and beautiful decorations, we should make sure our home is neat and tidy for guests, too! It typically takes several days or more to complete your own decluttering room process and it can become a tedious experience as it takes up a lot of time.

BUT WHAT IF THEY ARE COMING TOMORROW?Here are some rapid and easy tidying tips that will leave any space well-groomed.

Take this time to think if you really need these things. If you don’t, thank them and let them go.

Do a “Bliss Check”

We become so familiar to living in our space that it is challenging to realise it accurately. Begin by pretending you are a guest and you are walking in through the front door. Move through each room, looking at it with fresh eyes. Imaginably you’ve shoved items in a closet or piled items you’re feeling unsure about. Take this chance to BLISS CHECK and ask yourself if these things are of any use to you. If not, thank them and let them go.

Know Where Things Belong - Did you realise anything laying around the room messily? This is your chance to decide exactly where it fits. Having a unclear idea that something should be kept “around here” isn’t satisfactory. The remote control goes in a silver dish on the right side table, pens on the counter go in the pottery holder, and the pile of mail goes in the pending box on your desk. If you want to maintain a tidy home, you – and everyone else who lives there – must know precisely where each item belongs.

Keep a Neat Kitchen

The kitchen in specific tends to look cluttered because it’s home to so many diverse items. The key to making it look as immaculate as possible is to show only your favourite items on the countertop. Items that can go in a drawer or cupboard must be put away first. If you keep the counter space around the sink clear, it should be easy to wipe any water that may drip and maintain a clean kitchen.

ONE FINAL TIP: Ensure that your dishwasher and or your drying rack is empty prior to your guests arriving so that you can place the dishes directly into the washer following your meals, so that your kitchen will remain well-ordered to the very end.
